Well, we pulled the plug on our AirBnB in Palermo. Left the premises and lost $400. Couldn't face another night in that trap. I felt like I was being subjected to torture with my bed in the middle of the freeway. Couldn't do it and David was nice enough to allow me to pull the plug.

We left Palermo and headed to Segesta Temple to spend the day. Ancient ruins and absolutely beautiful vistas. The temple was built in the 4th century BC, it is thought. There is a lot of mystery around the temple and many hypotheses. It is Greek architecture and nobody knows exactly why and it was never finished, also completely without reason that history provides. But it is massive and incredible to see. It sits all by itself in the middle of the country side and is awe inspiring. There is also a theater built from that era and we hiked to the top of the mountain to view that as well. The marriage of the ancient and the modern was never more obvious as we looked down onto modern roads from the site of ruins built before Jesus was born. There were very few tourists and nobody speaks English. It is a lot of fun to practice speaking Italian and while I butcher words on a regular basis, I'm slowly getting better. Avi is really learning a lot too and of course, David is a natural. After finishing our day there, we headed to our new place in Cinisi.  We missed our turn at one point and had to drive 20 kilometers before we could turn around! Navigating is very interesting to say the least.

Our place in Cinisi was the complete opposite of our place in Palermo. It is located in the country side where all you can hear are crickets and barking dogs. The house is beautiful but not sure we'll be here more than one night. I think we are going to keep moving. We have our eye on a beautiful beach about an hour from here and praying the storms allow us to enjoy. It is supposed to rain tomorrow. The roads here are better than the roads at home and I was completely unprepared for how modern the main highways are. The roads in town are of course, the typical crazy narrow roads where two cars go in the space of one.

We went into the town of Terrasini tonight for dinner. What a beautiful little town. Ate dinner at a lovely little restaurant and walked down to see the water under the moon. Temperature was lovely and it was everything you dream of when you think of Italy.

I am so happy to leave Palermo behind. I really hated that place. It is a city in Italy to which I will not be returning.
